About Us

Nature Explorers is a faith-based family collective dedicated to helping children and families connect with God’s creation through outdoor exploration, meaningful relationships, and hands-on learning experiences.
What began as a desire to create opportunities for children to learn beyond the walls of a traditional classroom has grown into a community where families gather to explore, learn, and grow together. Through our co-op classes, activity groups, field trips, leadership training, and upcoming online community, we strive to cultivate curiosity, confidence, character, and connection in every season of family life.
We believe some of life's greatest lessons are learned outside—while observing a butterfly, hiking a trail, conducting a science experiment, serving others, or simply spending time in community with like-minded families. Nature provides countless opportunities for discovery, and we believe those experiences can inspire a lifelong love of learning and a deeper appreciation for the Creator.
At the heart of Nature Explorers are our three pillars:
Whether you're joining us through a local chapter, participating in our co-op program, attending a field trip, volunteering, or connecting through our online community, our goal is simple: to create opportunities for families to experience the wonder of God's creation together while building a strong and supportive community.
We invite you to join us as we explore, learn, and grow—one adventure at a time.

Our Program
Why We Created the Nature Explorers Learning Model
We created the Nature Explorers Learning Model because we believe children learn best when they are actively engaged with the world around them. Too often, learning becomes disconnected from real-life experiences, curiosity, and meaningful relationships.
We wanted to create a model that combines hands-on exploration, project-based learning, outdoor discovery, and community connection in a way that helps children develop both knowledge and character.
Our approach encourages children to ask questions, solve problems, build confidence, and discover their unique strengths while learning through experiences they can see, touch, and remember. By blending nature, science, creativity, leadership, and faith-based values, we aim to cultivate a lifelong love of learning and help children grow into capable, curious, and compassionate individuals.

Our Community
How your family can be involved with other like-minded people
There are many ways to become part of the Nature Explorers community, whether you're looking for local connections, enriching learning experiences, or opportunities to bring Nature Explorers to families in your own area.
Families in East Tennessee can join our free Nature Explorers Activity Group, where we gather for outdoor adventures, social events, nature exploration, and field trips throughout the year. For those seeking a more structured educational experience, our Nature Explorers learning programs provide hands-on, nature-based co-op classes designed to help children explore, learn, and grow through meaningful experiences and community.
Passionate about building community where you live? Through our Educator Leadership Community, parents, educators, and community leaders can learn how to launch and lead a Nature Explorers chapter in their own area. We provide training, resources, and ongoing support to help you create engaging nature-based experiences for families in your local community.
No matter how you choose to get involved, you'll be joining a growing network of faith-based, nature-loving families committed to learning, connection, and exploring God's creation together.
